Operations Supervisor – Northampton, UK

Salary: £36,250 per annum plus performance bonus.

Hours:

Full‑time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday).

Location:

Northampton, covering Peterborough.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day compliance and standards of operations, including health, safety and fleet compliance.
  • Work closely with risk & assurance, fleet and operational teams.
  • Carry out daily site checks in line with Veolia requirements and legislation to support monthly inspections.
  • On site, perform driver early‑morning gate checks.
  • Support continuous (minimum annual) review of risk assessments (including COSHH) and review of legislation, accidents/incidents or Veolia procedure changes.
  • Ensure all drivers have an annual Driving Assessment and six‑monthly eyesight checks to meet Logistics UK audit requirements.
  • Deliver manual‑handling and any ad‑hoc training, including bio‑line/spill response, fall arrest and toolbox talks.
  • Assist depot teams with accident/incident investigations in collaboration with R&A.
  • Provide knowledge and support on day‑to‑day challenges while maintaining maximum quality, health and safety requirements.
  • Support managers in driving and improving compliance with focus on continuous improvement.
  • Support managers with optimum service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Transport CPC or other relevant approval – desirable.
  • Level 3 Leadership & Management or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience within the waste industry.
  • Fleet management experience.
