Join us as a Business Enablement Manager at Barclays where you will help shape the future of banking by serving as a strategic partner to senior leadership, driving the successful execution of business objectives by translating strategic priorities into actionable plans and ensuring the effective day‑to‑day management of the Loans department organisation. The role provides oversight across governance, financial management, workforce planning, risk and control, stakeholder engagement, and organisational effectiveness, enabling leaders to achieve commercial, customer, and colleague outcomes within a strong control framework.
Acting as a trusted advisor to the Head of Loans, the position supports business performance, operational excellence, and sustainable delivery of results while leveraging robust business‑management disciplines to enhance product strategy, performance, and lifecycle accountability, without direct responsibility for product ownership.
To be successful as a Business Enablement Manager, you must have the following essential skills:
- Proven experience delivering strategy and business transformation programmes, translating business strategy into executable plans and measurable outcomes.
- Significant business management experience, including performance tracking, prioritisation of competing demands, and management of risks, dependencies, and resources.
- Proven experience leading governance activities within a regulated environment, with a good understanding of risk management, controls, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare executive‑level communications, board papers, and strategic recommendations that support informed decision‑making.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships and drive alignment across senior leaders and cross‑functional teams.
- Hands‑on analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, with experience synthesising complex information into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
- Experience supporting financial management activities, including budgeting, forecasting, investment prioritisation, and performance reporting.
- Knowledge of retail banking, unsecured lending products, customer propositions, and the regulatory environment impacting consumer lending businesses.
- Experience driving organisational effectiveness through operating model design, workforce planning, business simplification, or transformation.
- Understanding of commercial performance drivers and the ability to evaluate business opportunities, risks, and trade‑offs.
- Experience supporting large‑scale change programmes aimed at improving operational efficiency, governance, and business effectiveness.

This role can be based in London or Northampton.
Purpose of the roleTo manage and develop existing and new products and/or services; and where applicable, ownership of related customer and colleague journeys, develop the product strategy, drive change through Barclays execution teams, make key decisions in the product lifecycle and own associated outcomes for customers, colleagues and the bank, achieved through appropriate service level agreements, regulatory compliance, risk management and controls.
Accountabilities- Development of customer level strategies and solutions that are tailored to customers’ needs.
- Subject‑matter expert in the applicable Product/Proposition team and be able to confidently guide and advise stakeholders at all levels in the Bank on the application of existing and new products/propositions and related customer and colleague journeys.
