• Lead, manage, and inspire the nursery team to deliver high‑quality care and education.
• Create a nurturing and stimulating environment for all‑round development of each child.
• Build relationships with families, colleagues, and external agencies.
• Oversee operations: staff schedules, budgets, health & safety, compliance.
• Mentor and foster continuous improvement, supporting the professional development of staff.
• Promote The Old Station Nursery ethos and values in daily practice.
• Maintain high cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards.
• Lead inspections and maintain accurate records to ensure EYFS and Ofsted compliance.

• Proven managerial experience in a childcare setting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the EYFS framework.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and team‑motivating skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and passion for children’s development.
• Level 3 Early Years qualification or higher (no sponsorship available).

Little Houghton Day Nursery offers a nurturing, rural environment across three rooms: baby (0‑2), toddler (2‑3), and preschool (3‑5). It is located near St Mary the Virgin church and is well connected by bus.
