Role Overview

The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the financial management of sites through effective and efficient controls, producing reports to allow senior management to establish site status.

What You’ll Do
  • Be primarily responsible for up to 3 or 4 sites of varying complexity, setting up budgets, producing bi‑monthly valuations (CVR's), appointing subcontractors and making payments to maintain close cost control.
  • Ensure weekly and monthly payments are processed efficiently and disputed items are resolved, giving an accurate picture of site financial status.
  • Produce site valuations on a bi‑monthly basis and present to the Board of Directors indicating any variation from budgeted figures.
  • Undertake negotiations to obtain optimum rates for sub‑contract appointments to maximise margins.
  • Utilise the Persimmon Group COINS system to set up new sites, establish budgets and predict site profitability for financial planning verification.
  • Liaison with other departments to ensure sites run efficiently (Construction, Sales, Customer Care, Accounts).
  • Comply with the Group’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy and promote safety throughout the team.
  • When deputising for the Manager allocate tasks and verify quality of work to ensure it meets company guidelines.
  • Mentor and train junior members, developing their skills to increase productivity in the region.
  • Assist the Commercial Manager with key business decisions and attend regular regional meetings as the relevant subject expert.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of HND/HNC in building‑related studies.
  • Previous experience in the UK residential house building sector.
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong project management and time management skills, able to oversee multiple projects at different stages of development.
