We are currently working with a highly respected specialist subcontractor working with some of the UK's leading Tier 1 contractors. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, the business is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator, or a Quantity Surveyor looking to make the move into Estimating, to join its team.
The OpportunityThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional to take a key role within an established and growing specialist subcontractor.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a range of specialist construction projects, working closely with Tier 1 contractors, clients, suppliers and the internal commercial and operational teams.
Candidates with an Estimating background are preferred, but the company will also consider experienced Quantity Surveyors who have a strong background in drylining, fire stopping or a similar specialist subcontracting environment and are looking to move into an Estimating-focused role.
About You Experienced Estimator- Proven estimating experience within construction or specialist subcontracting.
- Ideally experienced in drylining and/or fire stopping.
- Experience working with or tendering to Tier 1 contractors would be highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, quantities and tender documentation.
- Commercially astute with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong QS background within construction or specialist subcontracting.
- Experience in drylining, fire stopping, SFS, plastering or a related discipline would be particularly relevant.
- Good understanding of subcontract packages, costs, labour, materials and procurement.
- Commercially minded with an interest in developing a career within Estimating.
- Confident working with clients, contractors and the supply chain.
- Keen to develop estimating skills and take greater ownership of the pre-construction/tendering process
