We are an established dental practice based in Crawley town centre, providing a comprehensive range of general, preventative, restorative and cosmetic dental treatments within a modern and patient focused clinical environment. The practice offers a broad variety of treatments including routine dental care, dental hygiene, fillings, crowns, root canal treatment, extractions, Invisalign, teeth whitening, veneers, composite bonding, dental implants, dentures, bridges and emergency dental care.

We place a strong emphasis on patient comfort and personalised care, including supporting nervous and anxious patients to feel comfortable and reassured throughout their treatment. With a combination of general dentistry and more advanced cosmetic, restorative, implant and digital treatments, this is an excellent environment for a Trainee Dental Nurse looking to develop varied practical experience while working towards becoming a qualified Dental Nurse.

Hours:

Monday to Wednesday and Friday: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Thursday: 9:30 am to 7:30 pm Saturday: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

About the Role:

As a Trainee Dental Nurse, you will work alongside experienced dental professionals while developing the clinical knowledge, practical skills and confidence required for a successful career in dental nursing. You will gain hands on experience supporting a variety of treatments, with potential exposure to general dentistry, restorative treatments, cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, dental implants, emergency appointments and modern digital dentistry. Previous experience in dental nursing is not required.

We are seeking enthusiastic and dependable individuals who are keen to learn, develop new skills and build a future career in dentistry. Full workplace support and guidance will be provided as you develop your clinical skills alongside your Dental Nursing qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

In this trainee position, you will support the smooth running of the practice while building your clinical skills and confidence. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting the dental team during a range of patient appointments Ensuring surgeries are clean, prepared and ready for each patient Setting out the required instruments, materials and equipment before treatment Supporting patients from arrival through to the end of their appointment Offering calm, friendly reassurance to patients who may feel nervous about dental treatment Helping clinicians provide efficient and effective chairside care Cleaning, processing and sterilising instruments in line with practice procedures Following all relevant infection control, cross contamination and health and safety requirements Helping reset and prepare surgeries between appointments Updating and maintaining patient records accurately where required Protecting patient privacy and maintaining confidentiality at all times Contributing to a tidy, safe and well organised working environment Communicating effectively with dentists, therapists, nurses, reception staff and other members of the practice team

What We Are Looking For :
We welcome applicants who are interested in starting or are currently working towards a GDC recognised Dental Nursing qualification, such as the NEBDN Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing. The ideal candidate will be:
Approachable, polite and able to communicate clearly with patients and colleagues Patient and reassuring when caring for nervous or anxious patients Organised, punctual and reliable Willing to learn and take on new responsibilities Able to work effectively within a busy clinical team Comfortable using basic computer systems and maintaining accurate information Respectful of patient confidentiality and professional standards Hepatitis B vaccinated or willing to complete the necessary immunisation programme Legally entitled to work in the UK Able to provide a valid National Insurance number
