Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Locum Consultant Neurologist to join our well-established and supportive NHS neurology service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality neurological care within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, while contributing to education, service development and innovation.
Responsibilities- Deliver a balanced programme of outpatient neurology clinics, inpatient ward referrals, multidisciplinary team work and supportive professional activities.
- Conduct urgent and routine neurology clinics, ward referrals and participate in radiology meetings.
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary meetings, supervise trainees and junior staff and provide teaching.
- Manage administrative tasks to support clinical practice.
- Engage in academic work, study and supporting professional activities (SPA); opportunities for research and service development in collaboration with the Trust’s Research and Development team.
- Engage in educational supervision, appraisal, management and leadership roles where appropriate.
- Relevant specialty degree qualification.
- Full GMC Registration.
- MD, PhD or other higher degree (desirable).
- Education or Medical Education Qualification (preferably at Masters level) (desirable).
- Completion of Specialty Training (CST or equivalent) or within 6 months of achieving it (desirable).
- Experience of Audit and Quality Improvement (essential).
- Experience of Teaching Junior Staff (essential).
- Experience of Undergraduate Teaching (essential).
- Experience in Curriculum development and delivery (desirable).
- Effective Team worker, valuing experience and contributing (essential).
- Demonstrable Team Leadership skills and experience (essential).
- Understanding and experience of delivering organisational change (desirable).
- Publications in recognised Medicine or Medical Education Journals or Presentations (desirable).
- Research experience relating to quality (desirable).

Employment Details- Grade:
Consultant. - Pay: £109,725 to £145,478 a year (Pro Rata).
- Contract:
Fixed term, 12 months. - Working pattern:
