Consultant Psychiatrist - Male Adult Inpatients , based at Berrywood Hospital in Northampton, Northamptonshire Cove ward is a 17 bedded male only inpatient ward and this post will require assessment and management of a wide range of psychiatric presentations.
RC/AC status and section 12 required for this role.
Main duties of the jobThe Consultant will play a pivotal role in ensuring proactive, recovery-focused, individualised treatment plans are in place and being followed for each patient. They will be supported with a team of professionals who have been recruited specifically for this unit. Our intention is to have a short length of stay to manage only the acute phase of illness and support care in the least restrictive manner.

Full GMC Registration On Specialist Register/CCT in General Adult Psychiatry or eligible for inclusion within six months.
Approval under Section
12 of the Mental Health Act Desirable Additional Postgraduate Qualifications Publication of original research
Management training
Behaviours and Values
Essential In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
Demonstrate commitment to shared leadership & collaborative working to deliver improvement
Ability to work independently as well as part of A MDTAble to form a good working relationship with the peer group
Willingness to undertake training and CPD in areas appropriate to this post Ability to work under pressure
Willingness to participate in in-house training
