Provide Individual Support Within a Welcoming School Environment

A caring and inclusive primary school in Northampton is looking to appoint a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil requiring additional assistance in the classroom. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, supportive, and passionate about helping children succeed in their education.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to provide tailored support throughout the school day, helping the pupil remain engaged, confident, and supported within their learning environment.

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil during lessons and school activities
• Assist with learning tasks and adapt activities where required
• Encourage positive behaviour and support emotional wellbeing
• Help the pupil stay focused, engaged, and included within the classroom
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff where necessary
• Support the development of independence, confidence, and social skills

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
• Calm, caring, and patient approach to supporting pupils
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Able to follow guidance and adapt to the needs of the pupil
• Positive attitude and willingness to support across the school day
• Understanding of SEND or additional learning needs is beneficial
• Passionate about making a positive difference in education
