About the roleThe CIAG Coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive careers, information, advice, and guidance services to students within the Adult Learning Service. They will play a key role in supporting students in making informed decisions about their education, training, and career pathways, ultimately enhancing their employability and progression opportunities.
What will you be doing?- Plan, coordinate, and deliver a comprehensive CIAG service to students, including one‑to‑one guidance sessions, group workshops, and careers events.
- Provide impartial information, advice, and guidance to students on a range of education, training, and career options, tailored to their individual needs and aspirations.
- Deliver workshops, seminars, and presentations on topics related to career exploration, employability skills, CV writing, interview techniques, and job search strategies.
- Lead on the service MATRIX accreditation.
- Advise senior leadership and curriculum teams on policy, strategy and resources for CEIAG.
- Work effectively with the full range of support services to ensure marketing, enrolment and support enhances the curriculum offering and recruitment, including supporting planned marketing and promotional events.
- Support tutors providing initial information and advice.
- Demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs.
- Comply with the Council’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding, financial regulations, promotion of equalities, customer care, agreed audit actions and health and safety.
- Understand the council’s commitment to Corporate Parenting and take responsibility to support this commitment, enabling the council to be the best corporate parents possible to children and young people in our current and previous care.
- Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the grade of the post.
