Position OverviewThe EFNEP Educator delivers nutrition education to adult and youth participants in the Northampton County Cooperative Extension. The role involves recruiting, teaching, data collection, volunteer coordination, and program promotion.

- Recruit and enroll adult and school-aged youth participants.
- Make teaching visits to participants in home or group settings.
- Teach basic nutrition principles and food preparation skills.
- Submit program records and monthly reports.
- Market the program within the assigned area.
- Recruit volunteers and assign leadership roles.
- Collaborate with local Extension staff and partner agencies.
- Secure program resources.
- Travel within county, district, and state using a personal vehicle.
- Maintain confidentiality of program information.
- Coordinate with agencies to extend outreach.
- Maintain partnerships with service agencies.
- Participate in professional development trainings.
- Attend EFNEP meetings and trainings.
- Enhance program visibility by communicating impacts.
- Promote additional Cooperative Extension opportunities.
- Meet performance and impact standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
- Ability to communicate and teach effectively.
- Ability to organize, collect data, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to build partnerships and engage the community.
- Knowledge of community and social service programs for limited‑resource families.
- Experience teaching or working with limited‑resource adults or nutrition education.
- Work schedule Monday‑Friday business hours 8:30‑5:00, occasional evenings and weekends.
