The Lecturer Integrated Foundation Year and Health vacancy is a chance to help students take confident first steps into degree-level study at the University of Northampton. Delivered across the university’s portfolio, the course combines academic skills development with subject-focused learning. In this role you will deliver engaging teaching across the Health cognate area, support students as a personal tutor, and contribute to wider faculty and university activities.

About YouYou will be a student-focused educator with strong, current knowledge and experience in Health-related disciplines, including Nursing and broader Allied Health Professions, who can support learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrate good subject knowledge and applied experience across health and/or nursing-related fields, and teach confidently at foundation level.
- Plan, design and deliver high-quality learning that integrates academic skills and health contexts.
- Engage and motivate students effectively, using inclusive approaches for a wide range of entry points and learning needs.
- Use effective assessment, feedback and tutoring to develop students’ confidence and readiness for degree-level study.
- Contribute to programme development and wider faculty initiatives that enhance the student experience.
- Work collegiately and flexibly as part of a team, with a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Essential:
- Degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject
- Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or a teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale
Desirable:
- Master’s degree in a relevant subject
- Doctorate in a relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion
- Relevant professional qualification
