We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our thriving primary school in Kettering. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will support students both in the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping them to access learning and develop confidence, independence, and positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with SEND.
  • Assist teachers in adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Help implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual support strategies.
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external professionals.
  • Monitor and record student progress and contribute to review meetings.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
  • Has experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Is able to build positive and professional relationships with students and staff.
  • Has a proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics; relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
