Teacher Active is proud to be working with a well-established Further Education college in Northampton, who are looking to appoint a Higher Level Learning Support Assistant on a permanent basis. The college is committed to providing an inclusive, supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to develop academically, socially and personally while receiving the tailored support they need to succeed.

The college is seeking a Higher Level Learning Support Assistant to work full-time, 37 hours per week, from September 2026. The successful Higher Level Learning Support Assistant will support students with Special Educational Needs, helping them access the curriculum, delivering targeted interventions, assisting with EHCPs and pastoral support, preparing learning resources and providing class cover for teaching staff when required.

The successful Higher Level Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting young people with Special Educational Needs within an education setting

• Experience delivering learning interventions and supporting student progress

• Knowledge of EHCPs and inclusive learning practices

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider support team

• A proactive, adaptable and positive approach to supporting learners
