We are looking to recruit a talented and inspiring SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team.
The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher/Inclusion Manager to support the needs of a child or children who have special educational needs.
We are looking for excellent role models who will inspire our pupils, be hard working, enthusiastic, dynamic and passionate about making a difference.
It is a requirement of this post that you undertake lunchtime supervision.
RoleSummary:
- To support children who have special educational needs
- Deliver interventions based on learning plan targets, to both the specified children and a wider group of children across the school
- Provide feedback on learning progress to the class teacher
- Work both within the classroom setting and deliver interventions 1:1 or in a small group.
- Have the safety and wellbeing of our children at the centre of all they do
- Have a commitment to supporting children
- Show empathy and compassion to the social, emotional and mental wellbeing of all our children
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team and be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
- Support and uphold the Christian ethos of the school
- Find fulfilment and joy at helping children to become the best they can be
- Experience of working with children with additional needs in a primary setting
- The ability to adapt tasks to meet the needs of the child/children
- The desire to develop your own knowledge and skills and partake in professional development to support a child with special educational needs to engage with their learning
- Excellence initiative
- Experience of delivering interventions to groups and/ or 1:1
- A secure knowledge of positive behaviour management strategies
- The skills to work both independently and as part of a team
