We are recruiting for a Teaching and Innovation Coach - SEND to join a forward-thinking further education college in Northamptonshire.
This is not a student-facing teaching role. Instead, you will work closely with curriculum teams and teaching staff to enhance teaching, learning and assessment across the college, with a particular focus on inclusive practice and supporting learners with SEND.
The roleYou will:
- Coach and support teaching staff to develop more inclusive, engaging and innovative practice
- Work with curriculum teams to improve teaching and learning for diverse groups of learners
- Champion effective SEND strategies across the college
- Help staff adapt delivery to better meet individual learner needs
- Share best practice, practical techniques and new approaches to teaching
- Support the professional development of teaching teams through coaching, mentoring and training
We are looking for an experienced education professional with strong knowledge of SEND and effective teaching practice. You will ideally have:
- A Level 5 teaching qualification such as a PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent
- A Level 3 SEND qualification
- Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching and SEND best practice
- Experience supporting or developing teaching staff
- Excellent coaching, communication and relationship-building skills
- A recognised coaching or mentoring qualification, such as ILM Coaching and Mentoring, Train the Trainer or similar, would be a significant advantage.
