Here at GXO, we’re looking for four proactive, hands‑on Automation Engineers to join our Zara contract based in Crick. You’ll lead the resident engineering team to deliver preventative and corrective maintenance for advanced automation systems. Your mission?
Keep operations running smoothly, exceed KPIs, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards – all while supporting one of the world’s leading fashion brands. These are full‑time permanent positions. You’ll be working a “2‑2‑3 over 14‑days” shift pattern at night, covering the hours of 19:00 to 07:00.
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £54,000 per annum, and 24 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Whatyou’ll do on a typical day
- Drive preventative and corrective maintenance of automation technology, including conveyors, sorters, and AGVs.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement timely repair solutions to minimise downtime.
- Complete technical audits, maintenance reports, and ensure compliance with QHSE standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance technology efficiency.
- Maintain spare equipment and adhere to asset‑management processes.
- Qualified in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering / NVQ Level 3 – or equivalent).
- Proven experience with warehouse automation systems (AGVs, conveyors, sorters).
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hazard awareness.
