Sub Agent - Highways

I'm working with a leading highways contractor who is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to support the delivery phase of a major highways project in Northamptonshire.

This role will suit a Sub Agent with strong site leadership, technical capability, and a proven background in managing highways and earthworks packages while ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification.

• Support the Agent and Project Manager in the day‑to‑day delivery of highways works
• Manage site teams, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient construction
• Oversee highways and earthworks activities in line with specifications and programme
• Ensure implementation of RAMS, ITPs, and quality requirements
• Coordinate short‑term planning including daily activities and look‑ahead programmes
• Manage interfaces with design teams, clients, and stakeholders
• Monitor progress, quality, and safety, addressing issues proactively
• Support commercial and programme reporting as required

• Proven experience working as a Sub Agent or Senior Engineer on highways projects
• Strong background in highways and earthworks (essential)
• Experience managing site delivery, subcontractors, and engineering teams
• Sound understanding of health & safety, quality, and environmental controls
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• SMSTS and CSCS (required)
