Design Apprentice

Overview

We're looking for a Design Apprentice to join our Transportation Team based in Brixworth, Northamptonshire, working towards a Level 3 apprenticeship in Civil Engineer Technician.

Transportation – Build and maintain infrastructure for the highways, rail, aviation and ports sectors, with a common goal of connecting people. We provide transport solutions that are sustainable, long‑lasting and that promote various methods of transport ().

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading construction and infrastructure services company on an apprenticeship. Whilst working towards a recognised qualification, you'll be able to put your learnings into practice in your day‑to‑day role, helping you progress within your chosen career.

As a Design Apprentice you'll be enrolled onto a Level 3 apprenticeship in Civil Engineer Technician, giving you the opportunity to earn whilst you learn. You'll work closely with the Transportation team to support the overall design, build and maintenance of infrastructure for the highways, rail, aviation and ports sectors, with a common goal of connecting people.

• Learning how to act safely on site and being responsible for yourself and colleagues
• Applying highways standards when designing minor works on the highway
• Supporting colleagues in delivering traffic engineering schemes on the highway
• Liaising with construction teams to provide construction information for safe and effective delivery of works
• Arranging site surveys to be undertaken to support the design process

The role of Design Apprentice is great for you if you:

• Have a GCSE grade 4 or above in Maths and English or a Level 2 functional skills in Maths and English
• Are punctual, self‑motivated and willing to learn
• Have the ability to handle physical work in varying weather conditions
• Have the ability to work collaboratively with a team
