MEP Quantity Surveyor | Building Services & Industrial Projects | Northampton | Up to £55,000
About the RoleWe are recruiting on behalf of a growing engineering consultancy that delivers complex industrial, logistics, commercial, and technology-focused building projects across the UK. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to appoint an MEP Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor with experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) services who is looking to work on large-scale developments while gaining exposure to a diverse project portfolio.
What You Will Be DoingYou will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered commercially and financially successfully, working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for MEP packages.
- Managing project costs and monitoring expenditure throughout delivery.
- Evaluating subcontractor quotations and assisting with procurement activities.
- Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Supporting contract administration and commercial reporting.
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure accurate cost planning.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Producing regular cost reports and forecasts for project stakeholders.
- Supporting value engineering initiatives to optimise project performance and cost efficiency.
We are looking for an organised and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with experience in building services and a strong understanding of MEP installations.
Ideally, you will have:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience working as an MEP Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within the building services sector.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical installations within commercial, industrial, logistics, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts and contract administration.
- Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
