Gainsborough Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a leading manufacturer of bespoke packaging machinery to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team in Gainsborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business, working on innovative machinery projects from initial concept through to manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop bespoke packaging machinery, mechanical assemblies and components using Autodesk Inventor Produce detailed 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings and technical documentation Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manage design changes Collaborate with production, purchasing, electrical and service teams to ensure successful project delivery Ensure designs meet relevant safety, hygiene and CE/UKCA compliance standards Support design reviews, machinery testing and continuous improvements, applying Design for Manufacture principles Provide technical support for customer-specific engineering projects and machinery modifications

Skills & Experience:

Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical design, ideally within bespoke machinery or special-purpose equipment Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, including 3D modelling and 2D drafting Previous experience within packaging machinery or the food manufacturing industry would be advantageous Good knowledge of pneumatics, motors, drives and stainless steel fabrication Understanding of Design for Manufacture principles and CE/UKCA compliance requirements Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively across departments HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience If you're an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking for your next opportunity, apply today !
