Position: UK Tax Lead

As the UK Tax Lead, you will take ownership of all day‑to‑day tax activities across Corporate Tax, Employment Tax, VAT, and Customs Duty. You’ll work closely with teams in HR, Supply Chain, Sustainability, and Finance to ensure full compliance, accurate reporting, and proactive tax planning. You’ll manage Avon’s relationship with HMRC, oversee statutory and group tax filings, support business decisions with clear technical guidance, and ensure the company stays ahead of legislative changes.

Your role will be essential in maintaining a “no surprises” environment and providing trusted tax leadership across the organisation.

Key responsibilities
  • Managing UK corporate tax compliance, reporting, forecasting, and submissions.
  • Leading VAT oversight and ensuring compliance with Making Tax Digital requirements.
  • Overseeing employment tax activities, including PSA, P11D, STBV, and IR35 assessments.
  • Supporting global mobility matters in partnership with the Head of Reward.
  • Managing Customs Duty and supporting Green Tax compliance together with Supply Chain and Sustainability teams.
  • Coordinating external advisors and ensuring SAO and CCO obligations are met.
  • Providing technical tax advice to support business decisions and operational plans.
  • Leading and developing a UK Tax Accountant while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
What we're looking for
  • 5+ years post‑qualification experience, ideally with both practice and industry exposure.
  • Strong UK corporate tax expertise with broad knowledge across VAT, employment tax, and customs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters simply.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills and the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to operate proactively, manage change, and deliver high‑quality outcomes under pressure.
  • A solutions‑focused mindset with strong problem‑solving capability.
