Purpose of the Role
To establish and nurture profitable relationships with both corporate and individual clients, bridging the bank’s offerings and clients’ needs to ensure mutual benefit and long‑term success.
Accountabilities- Manage client relationships to identify financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance.
- Analyze data from investment portfolios, cash flow, and other sources to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement.
- Research industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
- Design customised solutions addressing clients’ specific needs, incorporating a range of bank products and services.
- Communicate value proposition, justify recommendations, and negotiate terms beneficial to both client and bank.
- Provide guidance and expert investment advice to support clients’ financial decisions, risk‑management, and wealth‑management strategies.
- Assess financial, legal, and operational risks related to client relationships and implement measures to minimise potential losses.
- Document all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability.
- Monitor client satisfaction, revenue, and other metrics to evaluate relationship‑management effectiveness.
- Advise and influence decision‑making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions.
- Lead a team on complex tasks, delivering work that impacts the whole business function.
- Set objectives, coach employees, and evaluate performance relative to objectives.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviours:

- Consult on complex issues and provide advice to People Leaders to resolve escalated issues.

- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively.

- Experience in payments and financial services.
- Strong relationship‑management and interpersonal skills; ability to build credibility at all levels.
- Proven negotiation skills and track record of increasing business performance.
- Influencing ability and prioritisation in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience managing a portfolio and working with third‑party suppliers, technology partners, and competitors.
- Proficiency in risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital technology.
This role can be based in Northampton, Glasgow, Manchester or Sunderland and will require regular travel across the North.
