Position: Financial Crime Risk Assessment Manager (AVP

Financial Crime Risk Assessment Manager (AVP)

Join us as a Financial Crime Risk Assessment Manager (AVP), where you will lead on intelligence reviews, sign off investigations, and manage relationships across our highest-risk client portfolio. This role spans sensitive, high-risk sectors and requires considerable judgment, sector awareness, and a commitment to ethical standards. You will investigate potential non‑compliance, fraud, misconduct, and other unethical behaviour, making key decisions that protect the bank’s reputation, support financial integrity, and ensure full regulatory and compliance adherence, with data gathering, analysis and clear risk assessment at the core of your responsibilities.

Essential Criteria
  • Former experience as a due diligence or risk assessment manager.
  • Considerable understanding of AML laws, regulations and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of high‑risk industry sectors and money laundering threats posed by Business Banking clients.
  • Proven ability to make confident, well‑reasoned risk decisions and clearly present findings to senior stakeholders.
Desirable Criteria
  • Formal qualification or certification in Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) such as an ICA Diploma or Certificate in AML or similar is required.
  • Proven experience making risk decisions relating to financial crime.
  • Experience managing high‑quality due diligence reviews.
  • Investigation experience. Proficiency with investigative tools and software.
Contract Information

This is a 10‑month fixed‑term contract based in Northampton with hybrid working. The role requires a valid working permit for the UK.
