We are currently supporting a well-established manufacturing business in Northampton in the search for an Interim Finance Business Partner to join the team on a contract basis for up to 12 months.
About the RoleThis is a commercially focused role requiring a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong business partnering experience. Working closely with operational and project stakeholders, you will provide financial insight, drive performance, and support key business decisions across the organisation.
Responsibilities- Monitor, manage and report project costs, ensuring expenditure remains aligned to approved budgets and business objectives.
- Develop detailed cost models and business cases for prospective projects, supporting pricing, quotations and funding applications.
- Support external funding and grant application processes, identifying opportunities to secure additional funding and improve project profitability.
- Build and maintain complex financial and operational models using tools such as Alteryx, Power Query and Power BI, delivering accurate forecasts and actionable business insights.
- Partner closely with project and departmental leaders on resource planning and cost management, ensuring effective utilisation of personnel and adherence to budgeted headcount.
- Analyse project performance, investigate cost variances and provide recommendations to drive continuous improvement and financial efficiency.
- Contribute to the development of reporting processes, financial controls and decision-support tools that enhance project visibility and overall business performance.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Previous experience in a Finance Business Partner or Commercial Finance role.
- Manufacturing, engineering or project-based industry experience preferred.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, with experience of Power BI, Power Query or Alteryx advantageous.
- Available to start immediately or at short notice.
- Able to commute to Northampton on a daily basis.
