The Opportunity

We're recruiting for a Commercial Assistant Accountant to join a well-established business in Northampton on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their commercial accounting experience within a supportive and collaborative team.

Working closely with senior finance stakeholders and operational teams, you'll play a key role in producing meaningful financial information, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and helping drive informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Produce and analyse commercial reports, highlighting trends and variances.
• Prepare month-end journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge where appropriate.
• Assist with profitability analysis and cost reporting.
• Support cash flow forecasting and financial performance reporting.
