About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Enforcement Investigation Officer to join our team, playing a key role in the assessment and resolution of appeals relating to parking, bus lane, and moving traffic contraventions. The role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to staying up to date with relevant legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and respond to challenges, representations, and appeals against Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs), ensuring accurate responses are issued within statutory time frames and in compliance with legislation and council policies.
  • Represent the Council at Traffic Penalty Tribunal hearings (telephone, video, post, or in person), preparing and submitting comprehensive evidence within strict deadlines.
  • Make informed, real-time decisions during hearings, including agreeing to case cancellations or accepting reduced payments where appropriate.
  • Process permit applications in line with council policy and support essential back‑office functions, including managing the permit mailbox, conducting compliance checks, and taking action in cases of misuse.
