We are looking to recruit a HCPC Registered Principal or Clinical or Forensic Psychologist (or anyone still in training and due to qualify in 2026) to work with adult male patients within our Medium Secure Service.

C (NHS 8a/8b)
Salary: depending on experience
Hours:
30-37.5 hours per week (0.8-1.0 WTE)
Suitable for a newly qualified Principal Psychologist / Psychologist or someone due to gain their HCPC Registration in 2026.

The role is on a male medium secure ward (Robinson), one of three Working Age Male wards, that provides care and treatment for working age males with mental health problems and forensic risk needs. As a ward psychologist, you will have an assistant psychologist to support you. You will work closely with the other male wards and clinical teams to ensure the pathways between the wards/services are maximized and meet patients’ needs as they progress through treatment and recovery.

- Psychology staff with a wide range of specialist therapeutic skills such as advanced training in CBT, EMDR, DBT, violence interventions, Fire Setting, sexual offending treatment and a variety of clinical and forensic specialist assessment skills.
- Specialist Medium Secure services, such as for Acquired Brain Injury, DEAF males and females, Older Men, and a medium secure/low secure blended service for females.

We seek a 0.8 to 1.0
WTE HCPC Registered Forensic or Clinical Psychologist or trainee psychologist who will qualify in 2026 to work within the Medium Secure Division. The successful applicant will work with an established psychology team of Consultant Psychologists, Principal Psychologists, Clinical & Forensic Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, trainee psychologists, graduate volunteers and placement students. You will also be a key member of an MDT alongside our colleagues from Psychiatry, Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy and other specialist disciplines.
