Job overviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 7 Advanced Mental Health practitioners to join the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). This role aims to work in collaboration with the Clinical Leads to provide quality assessment, formulation and interventions in CORE CAMHS, with skilled liaison with wider CAMHS pathways, partners and Primary Care.
Main duties of the job- Working with the Clinical Leads to support and develop robust clinical protocols, offering consultation, supervision, training and assisting all clinical staff to provide the best service for families, raising the profile of young people and carers’ access to services whilst ensuring best practice.
- Supporting screening and triage of new referrals, initial assessment, clinical review, formulation of care planning and care coordination of young people in the community, inpatient and across all CYP pathways. Leading in complex cases, facilitating multiple pathways, risk assessment and supporting the patient journey through specialist services.
- Participating in clinical audit, clinical documentation, developing SOPS, policies, responding to complaints and improving service through service user feedback.
- Supporting CPD staff training and supervision to ensure staff understand the protocols and Clinical Systems requirements, Mental Health Act legislation and Safeguarding practice.
- Ensuring the continuation of Service User and family engagement regarding planning, monitoring and review.
- Confidently representing the CAMHS service model and criteria in liaison with partner agencies and wider stakeholders.
The post will hold additional clinical responsibilities and senior on call duties within CAMHS as per the individual job plan.

- Contribute to the development and implementation of service and performance measures linking service deliverables to health and patient outcomes.

- Develop shared policies and procedures that contribute to seamless services and enable integration across organisational boundaries and with key partners.
- Work collaboratively across the health community with Service Managers, Clinical Leads and partners in NHFT and NCC.
- Facilitate a strong customer focus and user engagement to ensure regular and timely feedback that supports rapid innovation to improve effectiveness.
- Challenge complacency and identify activities that do not achieve demonstrable improvements in patient and health outcomes, gaining staff and team ownership of change.
- Respond to complaints in accordance with Trust policy.
- Embed reporting, monitoring and learning from incidents in accordance with Trust policy.
- Comply with standard infection control precautions to prevent or minimise the spread of microorganisms and communicable diseases to patients, staff and the surrounding community.
- Ensure that any matters relating to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults are identified and raised with the relevant named lead and dealt with in accordance with Trust policy.
