Full-Time Support Worker – St Austell Area Educare Recruitment is currently recruiting an experienced Support Worker for a full-time position based in the St Austell area, supporting individuals with learning difficulties and mental health needs. This is a full-time role working as part of an established rota, so applicants must be able to commit to a variety of shifts, including daytime shifts, waking nights and sleep-ins.

Location is important for this position. We are looking for applicants who are based in or close to St Austell, or who can reliably travel to the area for their shifts. We will also consider applicants from surrounding areas such as Newquay, Bodmin and other parts of mid-Cornwall where travelling to St Austell is realistic. Please only apply if you currently live within reasonable travelling distance of St Austell or are already in the process of relocating to the area.

The role:

You will provide person-centred support to individuals with learning difficulties and mental health needs, helping them with their day-to-day lives while promoting independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing. You will need to be confident providing high-quality support and responding appropriately to a range of individual needs. Previous experience within learning difficulties, mental health or a similar support setting is required. You will be joining a full-time rota which includes a mixture of shifts.

Flexibility is therefore essential, particularly around waking nights and sleep-in shifts. Requirements:
• Previous experience working as a Support Worker or within a similar care role
• Experience supporting individuals with learning difficulties and/or mental health needs
• Must hold a full UK driving licence
• Must be comfortable driving a company vehicle as part of the role
• Able to work a full-time rota
• Able to work waking nights and sleep-ins
• Reliable, flexible and committed
• Good communication skills
• Must live within reasonable travelling distance of St Austell Important location information:
