The Practice

This is a well‑established, award‑winning practice situated in a convenient Northampton.

What Will You Be Doing?

As an Optical Assistant, you’ll play an important role in delivering an excellent patient experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Dispensing spectacles to patients of all ages and prescription levels.
  • Helping patients choose suitable frames and lenses based on their individual needs.
  • Carrying out pre‑screening and supporting the clinical team.
  • Assisting with contact lens appointments and teaching patients how to insert and remove lenses where experienced.
  • Building lasting relationships with patients through friendly, professional service.
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure the practice runs smoothly.
  • Supporting the continued growth and success of the business.
What Are We Looking For? YOU MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 12 MONTHS’ EXPERIENCE WORKING IN AN OPTICAL PRACTICE.

We’re looking for someone who brings the right attitude as well as optical experience.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • At least 12 months’ experience as an Optical Assistant.
  • Confidence dispensing to all prescription levels.
  • Good contact lens knowledge, ideally including teach experience.
  • A warm, bubbly and approachable personality.
  • Excellent communication skills and a genuinely empathetic approach to patient care.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to support your colleagues.
  • A desire to continue learning and developing your optical career.

Most importantly, we want someone who enjoys working with people and takes pride in making patients feel comfortable and valued.
