We’re a hybrid mail company helping businesses send and receive post online. We make snail mail feel like email, and we’re not stopping there. We’re growing fast, building smart tools, and rethinking how business should work.

We’re a curious, energetic team that cares about our customers and each other. We like people who ask questions, get stuck in, and want to make things better.

About This Role

We’re looking for an IT Helpdesk Apprentice to join our team and help keep the technology behind Postworks running smoothly.

You’ll be the kind of person who enjoys solving problems, loves learning how things work, and gets a real sense of satisfaction from helping others. Whether you're setting up a new laptop, fixing a technical issue or supporting colleagues across the business, you'll play an important part in keeping everyone connected.

This is the perfect role for someone starting their career in IT who wants hands-on experience in a growing technology business.

You’ll learn on the job, work alongside our experienced IT team, and come away with a Level 3 qualification and practical skills that will set you up for a career in IT.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work closely with our IT team to support colleagues across the business and make sure our systems, devices and networks are running as they should.

Your week might include:

IT support
  • Providing first-line technical support to colleagues, both remotely and in person
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity issues
  • Keeping users updated while you investigate and resolve problems
  • Escalating more complex issues to senior team members when needed
  • Helping colleagues get back up and running as quickly as possible
Devices and equipment
  • Setting up laptops, mobile phones and other hardware for new starters
  • Preparing devices for colleagues leaving the business
  • Assisting with configuring and deploying company equipment
  • Maintaining our IT asset register so devices, software and licences are accurately tracked
  • Helping keep equipment organised, secure and ready to use
Infrastructure support
  • Supporting senior IT colleagues with network maintenance and firmware updates
  • Assisting with the day-to-day running of our IT systems
  • Helping with routine maintenance and technical administration
  • Learning about network infrastructure and business technology
  • Building practical experience across a range of IT systems
Team support
  • Jumping in to help with day-to-day IT tasks across the business
  • Learning from experienced IT professionals every day
  • Developing your technical knowledge through hands-on experience
  • Building confidence while supporting projects and improvements
What You’ll Get From Us
  • A full-time, permanent role
  • Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship
  • 24 days' holiday plus bank holidays
  • Daily company-provided lunch
  • Monthly team rewards and recognition
  • Two duvet days each year
  • Enhanced parental leave for eligible employees
  • Pension scheme and employee share options
  • Personal development opportunities and mentoring from experienced IT professionals
  • A warm, open team that wants you to grow
What We’re Looking For

You don't need to have worked in IT before. We're looking for someone who's genuinely interested in technology and excited to learn.

You should have:

  • GCSEs in English and Maths, grade 4 (C) or above
  • A practical interest in technology
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence using computers and learning new systems
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • A friendly, helpful approach to supporting colleagues
  • The ability to manage your time and stay organised
Bonus points if
  • You have an IT-related qualification
  • You're familiar with Windows, Linux or macOS
  • You've built a PC, set up a home network or worked on personal IT projects
  • You're naturally curious about technology and how things work
Your apprenticeship journey

You'll be enrolled on a Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship, with the opportunity to achieve CompTIA A+ as part of your training.

You'll attend Bedford College one evening each week during term time and receive dedicated time to learn while gaining real-world experience alongside our IT team.

By the end of your apprenticeship, you'll have a recognised qualification, valuable hands‑on experience, and a strong foundation for a successful career in IT. There may also be the opportunity to continue your journey with Postworks through a permanent role and future career progression.
