Tell me more about Wilson Browne Solicitors…
We are a firm with a vision and that vision starts with being a great place to work, a proper work-life balance, varied and interesting clients, opportunities for development and career progression, plus a host of other benefits. As a strong regional firm, we have an almost unique niche in our market with 6 offices, great clients, a heritage that goes back nearly 200 years, and a reputation that others envy.
Tell me more about the role….
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Employment expert to join our team based at our Northampton office, where you will work with a leading Employment Partner in the next phase of growth for the team. You will be confident and have some management experience to help train and supervise the team. This position offers a real opportunity for leadership with genuine market leading Legal 500 support already in place: the best of both worlds!
A willingness to get involved in Business Development is desirable, but leadership and the ability to engage with new contacts and the wider teams for growth and development are where you will shine.
You will ideally have 5+ years PQE and be competent at working independently, handling your own caseload from initial instruction through to completion. This is a role where your voice will be heard, with genuine scope for a challenging but supported career.
Responsibilities:You will undertake a diverse caseload incorporating contentious and non-contentious work for employer clients. Wilson Browne acts for a diverse client base including SMEs, OMBs and listed companies. In addition, we also act for employees. No two days are the same… you could be working on anything from Settlement Agreements to providing corporate support for M&A work as well as the full range of employment matters including, but not limited to:
- Assisting with Modern Slavery Act compliance
- Playing an integral advisory role with a variety of projects (including re-structuring, changing terms and conditions of employment and large-scale redundancy exercises)
- Providing strategic advice in connection with Boardroom/SMT disputes
- Providing ad hoc advice on operational HR matters
- Assisting with data protection compliance
- Representing clients in employment tribunals
This is a role that will grow with you, and you’ll also have the opportunity to work on projects in conjunction with our Corporate & Commercial, Commercial Litigation, and Commercial Property teams (all recognised by Legal 500). On top of that, you’ll have first-class support from our award-winning Marketing Team, to assist with business development opportunities.
We are looking for the right person, our next leader. We are in no rush, this is a growth role, not a succession scenario, there is much to be done and we will look at the person willing to step up or the person ready to step out and take that lead.
