We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Caretaker to join our Northampton Schools Account at Abbeyfield School, Mere Way, Northampton NN4 8BU
– this role will be based on site.
Salary: £13.08 per hour.
Hours: 25 hours per week – 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities- Ensure smooth running of the school premises.
- Carry out day‑to‑day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., furniture fixtures, wall repairs).
- Check that heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly.
- Daily responsibility to verify all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use.
- Guard against vandalism by inspecting premises.
- Arrange chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clear away thereafter.
- Pick litter and perform general clearing of external areas.
- Knowledge and previous experience in practical DIY skills for minor repairs.
- Good team player.
- Flexible with shift work.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with on‑site client and employees.
- Experience supporting local and business zero‑carbon programmes in a strategic and lean manner (where appropriate).
- Responsibility for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
