The Northampton fuel terminal is connected to the UK Oil Pipeline enabling deliveries of gasoline and distillate products from both the Thames in the south and Stanlow in the North West refineries, via a spur line. The terminal has five operating loading bays, with facilities for loading gasoline, super unleaded, diesel, and interface. The terminal has eight main storage tanks holding a total of 28,000 m3 of fuel products.

Ethanol is imported via road tanker and discharged into storage tanks for blending into gasoline fuel. The Northampton terminal is a Lower Tier COMAH site and the site operates 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Shift Supervisor. The main purpose of this role is to contribute to the high standards of safe and efficient operations at the Terminal.

You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe handling of all fuels and additives received, stored and distributed at the Terminal, in line with appropriate Safety Standards and legislation.

• Supervise the maintenance of plant and equipment ensuring Integrity Management (IM) standards are adhered to.

• Provide 24-hour 7 day service to maintain safe and efficient operation of all Logistics driver and contractor workforce ensuring Customer Focus priorities are not compromised.

• During the absence of the line manager the Shift Supervisor will be the competent person on site.

• Participate in Operational Site Meetings.

• Maintain Operational Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

Minimum Requirements:

• Relevant operational qualification or demonstrable experience in a high-hazard process environment (e.g. fuel terminal, refinery, chemical plant).

• Evidence of competence in supervising safety-critical operations.

• Ability to achieve and maintain site authorisations (e.g. Permit Issuer, Emergency Response role).
