Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) for a Children and Young People's Transformation Manager to play a key role in shaping and delivering innovative, high-quality services for children, young people and families.
Main Duties of the JobThe Role
Reporting to an Assistant Director of CYP Services, you will provide senior leadership and programme management across a wide portfolio of transformation and improvement work. This high-impact role requires strong strategic thinking, excellent stakeholder engagement and the ability to deliver sustainable change in a complex environment.
Key Responsibilities- Leading and delivering the CYP transformation programme, ensuring alignment with Trust and system priorities.
- Providing programme and project management oversight, governance and assurance.
- Working closely with Assistant Directors, senior leaders and partners across health and care.
- Using high-quality data and performance information to drive improvement, efficiency and value.
- Embedding a strong programme management culture across CYP services.
- Supporting and line managing staff involved in transformation activity.
- Leading engagement, negotiation and collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders.
NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and the community. We focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible, with many services provided at home, work or in schools. We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

Person Specification – Essential- A Master’s degree or equivalent Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in a related discipline.
- PRINCE2, Lean, Six Sigma or other Project Management course or qualification.
- An understanding of service improvement and transformation tools and how to apply them to different programmes. Knowledge of programme management and the use of programme management tools.
- Proven significant previous experience in project/programme management related to service redesign/improvement.
- Experience of managing and leading on change programmes, ideally within the NHS.
- Experience of line management.
- Evidence of effective project and programme management skills, including the ability to adjust and revise complex programmes/plans at short notice, recognise risk and interpret guidance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment where frequent change is expected.
- Evidence of the ability to role‑model positive behaviours and the Trust’s Leadership behaviours.
- Evidence of a creative and innovative approach to issues and the promotion of new ideas.
