Closing Date: 30th June

Due to continued growth, we’re looking for a Strategy & Transformation Senior Manager to join our team at our office in the City of London. As a Strategy & Transformation Senior Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in converting Drax’s strategic ambition into reality through disciplined, enterprise-level delivery.

Operating as a trusted strategic partner to senior leaders, you’ll lead high priority transformation initiatives, from concept through to implementation, delivering value, return on investment and measurable business impact.

As part of a revitalised team, this role will sit at the heart of our continued growth and evolution, providing an unparalleled opportunity to actively shape the future and success of Drax!

Who we are:

We’re not just talking about making a difference, we’re making it happen. We generate dispatchable, renewable power and create stable energy in an uncertain world. Building on our proud heritage, we have ambition to become the global leader in sustainable biomass and carbon removals.

You’ll be joining our teams of practical doers, future‑thinkers and business champions. We’re enabling a zero‑carbon, lower‑cost energy future for all, and working hard to decarbonise the planet for generations to come.

About the role:

As a Strategy & Transformation Senior Manager, you’ll be responsible for designing and leading the delivery of transformation initiatives, translating strategic priorities into structured, sequenced execution plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and accountability frameworks - with relentless focus on value creation and measurable outcomes.

You’ll engage and influence senior business stakeholders, build strong relationships, secure sponsorship, and maintain alignment throughout delivery to ensure strategic intent is preserved, blockers removed, and collaboration across functions is actively fostered to unlock greater enterprise outcomes.

Key accountabilities include:
  • Scoping and delivering major transformational cross‑functional change initiatives across operating model, growth, technology/AI, cost reduction and process reinvention topics
  • Driving value realisation, identifying value pools, defining and tracking benefits, and maintaining performance transparency to ensure transformation initiatives deliver maximised value aligned to Drax’s strategic ambition.
  • Partnering closely with Group Portfolio Management and Change & Project Management to align execution with governance and standards, ensuring assigned initiatives are connected to the enterprise‑wide transformation roadmap, integration priorities, and Drax’s strategic ambition.
Who we’re looking for:
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering strategic, complex, enterprise‑scale transformation, preferably within Energy, Utilities or Power industry but this is not a prerequisite.
  • Experience of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, managing transformation governance, and delivering measurable outcomes and return on investment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and benefits‑led thinking, with the ability to drive value realisation across complex, multi‑workstream programmes.
  • Experience of M&A integration and divestment would be advantageous.
  • Strong programme architecture and delivery skills, with the ability to translate complex strategic priorities into structured execution plans.
  • Excellent stakeholder influencing and engagement skills, with the confidence and gravitas to bring constructive challenge at senior leadership level.
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills, combined with a naturally inquisitive mindset and the ability to solve complex, large‑scale problems.
Rewards and benefits:
  • Discretionary bonus depending on company performance
  • Private Healthcare
  • SAYE (Sharesave): discretionary scheme from time to time
  • Personal accident cover
  • Group personal pension plan where we’ll contribute up to 10%
  • Holiday – 25 days plus bank holidays
  • Reimbursement of the cost of your annual membership of one relevant and appropriate professional body
