We're looking for a motivated and people-focused Team Manager to lead colleagues within this exciting environment. You'll play a key role in delivering operational performance, developing talent and creating a culture where people feel supported, engaged and empowered to perform at their best. Working at the centre of one of Royal Mail's most significant investments in modern operations, you'll help drive the future of our parcels business.
Aboutthe Role
As a Team Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and performance of your work area. You'll ensure operational plans are delivered safely and efficiently, using performance information to identify issues, agree actions and drive continuous improvement. You'll also support colleague development, manage attendance and performance processes fairly, and keep your team informed and engaged through regular communication. In automated areas, you'll work closely with Engineering colleagues to help maximise equipment performance and productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and motivate your team to achieve safety, quality, customer service and operational performance targets.
- Coach and develop colleagues, providing clear feedback and supporting their ongoing development.
- Manage attendance, wellbeing and performance processes fairly, consistently and in line with agreed policies.
- Use operational data and performance measures to identify issues and deliver practical improvements.
- Lead team briefings and maintain clear communication so colleagues understand priorities and performance.
- Work collaboratively with other operational areas and support functions to deliver continuous improvement and effective service.

You're an approachable and engaging leader who enjoys helping people develop and succeed. You can set clear expectations, recognise good performance and handle more challenging conversations constructively when required. You'll be comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment, balancing the needs of your team with changing business priorities. You'll also bring a practical, solutions-focused approach and be confident using data to inform your decisions.
WhatYou'll Bring
- Experience leading, coaching or developing people in an operational, customer service, logistics or similar environment.
- Strong communication and people-management skills, including confidence handling performance and attendance conversations.
- An understanding of health, safety and wellbeing responsibilities.
- The ability to interpret performance information, solve problems and turn insight into action.
- Experience supporting change, continuous improvement or new ways of working.
- Good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office and operational systems.
