Repair Technician I – STERIS, Northampton, United Kingdom

At STERIS Instrument Management Services (IMS), we specialize in surgical instrument sterilisation and reprocessing. We are looking for a Repair Technician to join our team, receive world‑class training, and advance along a defined career path.

Full‑time, 40 hours per week:
Monday‑Friday, 08:00‑16:30.

• Repair and maintain surgical instruments, ensuring quality and safety.
• Participate in training, record notes, and stay updated with techniques.
• Care for, maintain, and store assigned equipment.
• Operate specialised equipment such as presses, soldering irons, and laser machines.
• Prioritise tasks, manage repairs, and communicate with team and leadership.
• Liaise with the stockroom for parts, maintain punctuality, and report absences.
• Demonstrate physical strength, precision, and dexterity handling heavy machinery.

Required Experience

• Ability to handle small objects with precision and use tweezers.
• Physical dexterity and mechanical skills.
• Strength and precision in handling tools and equipment.

Preferred Experience

• Excellent hearing to detect subtle machine issues.
• Familiarity with machinery operation.
• Proficiency with soldering station.
• Attention to detail, computer proficiency, and strong organisational skills.
• Effective teamwork, communication, and willingness to learn.
