Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Northampton
£45,000 – £55,000 per annum
Weekly Rotating

Shifts:

06:00–14::00–22:00

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing plant based in Northampton. Due to continued growth and investment, they are looking to strengthen their Plant Engineering / Maintenance team.

This is a hands-on electrical maintenance role within a busy industrial manufacturing environment, supporting production machinery and ensuring minimal downtime across the site.

The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing machinery used in the manufacturing process.

Key responsibilities include:

* Electrical fault finding and breakdown repair

* Minimising production downtime

* Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)

* Working with DC and AC drives

* Maintaining and troubleshooting PLC systems

* Working with 3-phase motors, inverters and relays

* Supporting safety circuits and control panels

* Maintaining electrical hoists and lifting equipment

* Working with sensors and speed control systems

* Supporting hydraulic and pneumatic systems where required

* Maintaining high housekeeping and health & safety standards

What We’re Looking For

* Apprentice trained and electrically qualified (essential)

* Strong electrical fault-finding skills

* Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics and control circuits

* Experience with PLC systems

* Experience with DC/AC drives and 3-phase motors

* Knowledge of sensors and control systems

* Hydraulic and pneumatic experience advantageous

* Mechanical understanding of gearboxes and pumps desirable

* Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure

* Strong awareness of health & safety procedures

* Manufacturing experience is beneficial but not essential
