We are seeking a skilled and proactive Technical Retail Fitter to join our team. This role combines hands‑on installation work with close collaboration across design, production, and manufacturing teams. The successful candidate will work across office, site, and manufacturing environments, delivering high‑quality retail fitouts in line with technical drawings and overall project timelines.
Key Responsibilities- Install and fit retail fixtures, furniture, displays, and equipment on‑site
- Read, interpret, and work accurately from technical drawings and specifications
- Liaise closely with the design team to clarify drawings, resolve technical queries, and ensure design intent is met
- Collaborate with production and manufacturing teams to support build accuracy and installation readiness
- Work across office, site, and manufacturing environments as required by the project
- Understand the critical path of each build and know when to place orders to avoid delays
- Proactively manage supplier timelines, including knowing when to push for delivery to protect the programme
- Maintain professional but firm communication with manufacturers and suppliers when deadlines are missed
- Use hand and power tools safely and proficiently
- Measure, cut, assemble, and adjust materials as required
- Identify and resolve installation or fit issues efficiently on‑site or during production
- Ensure all work meets quality standards, health and safety requirements, and project deadlines
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe, tidy working environment
- Proven experience as a technical fitter, installer, or similar role within retail or commercial fitouts
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- High level of proficiency with hand and power tools
- Experience liaising with design, production, and manufacturing teams
- Strong understanding of materials, lead times, and manufacturing processes
- Practical knowledge of build programmes and critical path planning
- Confident communicator, able to challenge suppliers constructively when required
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
- Good understanding of on‑site health and safety practices
- Flexibility to work across office, site, and manufacturing locations
- Physically fit and capable of manual work
- Full, valid driver’s license (if travel between sites is required)
- Experience with bespoke or high‑end retail fitouts
- Relevant trade qualifications or technical certifications
