Mechanical Technician (Contract) Swindon £18 – £25 per hour Our client, based in Swindon, is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician with a strong background in mechanical assembly, the use of hand and machine tools, and the build of complex mechanical machinery to become part of a well-established company.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Assemble complex mechanical machinery and sub-assemblies using engineering drawings and specifications Work confidently with a wide range of hand tools and machine tools Carry out mechanical fitting, alignment, adjustment, and testing of components Identify and resolve mechanical issues during assembly and testing Ensure all work is completed accurately, safely, and to required quality standards Collaborate with engineering teams to support continuous improvement and efficient production Mechanical Technician Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience in a mechanical technician, mechanical fitter, or similar engineering role Strong practical knowledge of hand tools and workshop equipment Experience assembling complex mechanical systems or machinery Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach Jackie Kerr Recruitment is an independent agency that has been established for 28 years.
