Quest Employment is currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop / Production Manager to join a well-established woodworking and manufacturing business based in Northampton
.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced production or workshop professional looking for a straight-to-permanent position
, where you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the workshop, production planning and the management of a skilled team.
You will play a key role in ensuring production runs efficiently, deadlines are achieved and high standards of quality, organisation and Health & Safety are maintained.
The RoleAs Workshop / Production Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the workshop and production operation.
Your duties will include:
- Managing the day-to-day running of the workshop and production schedule
- Planning and prioritising workloads to ensure production deadlines are met
- Acting as the key link between the office-based team and workshop
- Supervising, training and developing workshop staff
- Monitoring production progress and ensuring jobs are completed on time
- Managing stock levels and supporting materials control
- Ensuring the workshop is organised, efficient and maintained to a high standard
- Ensuring all Health & Safety procedures are followed
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement
- Liaising with senior management regarding production performance and operational issues
- Taking a hands-on approach to resolving day-to-day production challenges
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Workshop Manager, Production Manager or similar leadership role within the woodworking industry
.
You will ideally have:
- Previous workshop or production management experience within woodworking
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- Experience of training and developing staff
- Good knowledge of production planning and stock control
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- The ability to manage workloads and meet tight deadlines
- A hands-on and proactive approach to problem-solving
- A full UK driving licence
- Forklift licence would be desirable
- Salary up to £50,000 per annum
, depending on experience - Straight-to-permanent position
