Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent

Quest Employment is currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop / Production Manager to join a well-established woodworking and manufacturing business based in Northampton
.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced production or workshop professional looking for a straight-to-permanent position
, where you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the workshop, production planning and the management of a skilled team.

You will play a key role in ensuring production runs efficiently, deadlines are achieved and high standards of quality, organisation and Health & Safety are maintained.

The Role

As Workshop / Production Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the workshop and production operation.

Your duties will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the workshop and production schedule
  • Planning and prioritising workloads to ensure production deadlines are met
  • Acting as the key link between the office-based team and workshop
  • Supervising, training and developing workshop staff
  • Monitoring production progress and ensuring jobs are completed on time
  • Managing stock levels and supporting materials control
  • Ensuring the workshop is organised, efficient and maintained to a high standard
  • Ensuring all Health & Safety procedures are followed
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Liaising with senior management regarding production performance and operational issues
  • Taking a hands-on approach to resolving day-to-day production challenges
What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Workshop Manager, Production Manager or similar leadership role within the woodworking industry
.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous workshop or production management experience within woodworking
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills
  • Experience of training and developing staff
  • Good knowledge of production planning and stock control
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to manage workloads and meet tight deadlines
  • A hands-on and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Forklift licence would be desirable
