A leading UK trade merchant is looking for an experienced and commercially minded Trade Marketing Manager to drive growth across a core product category within its national trade network.

This is a hands on role focused on supporting branch and trade counter teams, strengthening relationships with installers and trade customers, and delivering campaigns that drive footfall, product adoption and sales.

You will lead trade marketing activity from strategy through to delivery and work closely with product, category, sales and digital teams.

What you will be doing
  • Owning and delivering the trade marketing strategy for a key product category
  • Planning and delivering promotional and product campaigns across branches, trade counters and digital channels
  • Creating and managing POS, brochures, in branch materials and sampling activity
  • Working closely with category and product teams to support launches and range development
  • Supporting regional and branch sales teams with tailored trade marketing activity
  • Building strong relationships with installers, trade customers, suppliers and distribution partners
  • Driving consistent brand and product visibility across the trade estate
  • Producing customer case studies and trade customer success stories
  • Managing a central library of approved trade marketing assets for internal teams
  • Monitoring competitor activity and market trends within the trade and merchant sector
  • Supporting and delivering trade days, supplier events and exhibitions
  • Managing agencies and suppliers to deliver activity on time and within budget
  • Tracking performance against agreed KPIs and providing monthly reporting
  • Managing trade marketing budgets and identifying cost efficiencies
What we are looking for
  • Proven experience in a trade marketing role within a merchant, trade, building materials or distribution environment
  • A strong track record of delivering campaigns that drive trade engagement and commercial results
  • Experience working closely with branch based or field sales teams
  • Confident working cross functionally with category, product, digital and commercial teams
  • Experience supporting multi site or national trade operations is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and copywriting capability
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to deliver under pressure
  • Commercial and analytical mindset with a focus on sales impact
  • Highly organised, proactive and delivery focused
  • Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Canva, file sharing platforms and artwork approval systems
