Position: Student Veterinary Nurse (FTC)

We are hiring! Here at Abington Park, we are looking for a Student Veterinary Nurse to join our team! This is a full‑time fixed‑term position. We see a variety of first opinion and referral cases, providing a great experience base for your veterinary nurse training.

The successful candidate will start learning basic animal care on our team before starting their official qualification through study via day release to the College. College entry requirements are: 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, to include English Language, Science and Mathematics (Grade 5 GCSEs Maths and English if taken from 2017 onwards).

Responsibilities
  • 8 hours plus an hour lunch break shifts between 7.30am and 7.30pm, rotating between the Abington Practice and the Moulton Referral Hospital. Work pattern is Monday‑Friday, excluding bank holidays. There is a weekend rotation working 8am‑1pm on a Saturday with time given back in lieu.
  • Lead and support animal care, including lifting, restraining animals and cleaning.
  • Drive the practice ambulance to collect animals when required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English Language, Science and Mathematics (Grade 5 GCSEs Maths and English if taken from 2017 onwards).
  • A full driving licence.
  • Fit enough to cope with the physical demands of the role.
  • Committed, enthusiastic, and a hard‑working team player with a passion for working with animals.
