The Research & Innovation Team at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust leads on supporting Principal Investigators (PI’s) in the set‑up, delivery and close‑out of research across all specialties within the Trust. The Clinical Research Practitioner will support the delivery of research studies, develop research collaboration, and maximise opportunities to increase research and innovation capacity and capability. The role reports to the Research nurse team and sits within the Medical Directors Directorate.
Responsibilities- Support the delivery of research studies across the Trust, including collaboration with Principal Investigators.
- Collect, record and maintain accurate data for patients participating in research studies.
- Assist current research staff in ensuring completeness, accuracy and consistency of data to meet regulatory standards.
- Provide clinical support to patients in clinical trials, such as taking samples, performing tests and taking physical measurements in accordance with trial protocols and Good Clinical Practice.
- Help develop research collaboration and maximise opportunities to increase participation of staff and patients in high‑quality research.
