About the role

You want your work to make a real difference — and in this role, it genuinely does. As Care Experienced Pledge Manager, you’ll take the lead on developing and delivering Northamptonshire Children’s Trust’s Care Experienced Pledge and the Leaving Care Local Offer.

You’ll be at the heart of a bold, community‑focused programme that brings together care‑experienced young people, local businesses, voluntary organisations and statutory partners to improve life chances. Using an asset‑based community development approach, you’ll turn commitment into meaningful action — ensuring the pledge is lived, not just promised.

This is a role for someone who thrives on connection, influence and impact, and who believes that care‑experienced young people should shape the support that’s designed for them.

What will you be doing?
  • You’ll identify unmet needs across cared for and care‑experienced communities and connect them to the right support, opportunities and networks.
  • You’ll build strong relationships with employers, businesses and community organisations — inspiring them to become pledge partners and supporting them to develop meaningful offers shaped by young people themselves.
  • You’ll work closely with young people to co‑produce the pledge and local offer, using inclusive and creative engagement methods so diverse voices are heard and valued.
  • You’ll coordinate advisory board activity, bring partners together, and help organisations understand the social value of their involvement.
  • You’ll keep the Care Leavers Local Offer live, relevant and accessible, ensuring information is current and genuinely useful.
  • Alongside this, you’ll promote opportunities, support funding bids, broker partnerships, share insight with frontline teams and help make sure resources are used effectively to maximise impact.
About you

You’re confident working with young people and passionate about co‑production — you don’t just consult, you collaborate.

You’re a natural relationship‑builder, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, businesses, community groups and internal teams, and you know how to negotiate, influence and bring people with you.

You understand the challenges faced by cared for children and care‑experienced young people, and you’re committed to equality, inclusion and fair access to opportunity.

You’re organised, adaptable and able to work independently, balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery.

You communicate clearly and persuasively, whether you’re chairing a meeting, writing a report or pitching an idea to a potential partner.

Ideally you bring lived or professional experience of the care system, youth and community work or partnership development but above all, you bring empathy,…
