Practice Manager needed for our Fostering Team in Northamptonshire, paying £38ph!

Position: Practice Manager – Fostering Team

Location: Northamptonshire

Salary: £38ph

Contract Type: Hybrid – 1 day per week in the office

About the Role

As a Practice Manager, you will deliver social work services at a level appropriate to a professionally qualified practitioner, ensuring the welfare of children and young people is safeguarded and promoted in accordance with statutory responsibilities and legislative requirements.

Alongside your casework responsibilities, you will provide high‑quality supervision, mentoring, and professional guidance to social workers and other team members, supporting the development of excellent practice and ensuring work meets professional standards.

You will also play an important role within the operational management team, contributing to service delivery, performance management, and the achievement of key objectives, while deputizing for the Team Manager when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality social work services to children, young people, and families
  • Assess risk, need, and protective factors to ensure children are safeguarded and supported effectively
  • Manage complex cases and provide professional expertise on challenging situations
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and high‑quality casework supervision to practitioners within the team
  • Support staff development and promote best practice in line with professional standards
  • Ensure work meets statutory requirements, legislation, and regulatory expectations
  • Contribute to the operational management and performance of the team
  • Support the achievement of service objectives, performance targets, and quality standards
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and families
  • Deputise for the Team Manager as required
