Social Worker – Safeguarding Children – OAS

Location:Hybrid
Rate:£38 per hour
Contract:Locum
Working Pattern:Minimum 3 days per week in the office

About the Role

We are currently seeking an
experienced Social Worker – Safeguarding Children
to join the OAS team on a locum basis.

This role is suited to a confident and experienced social worker with a strong background in
children's safeguarding
who can
hit the ground running
and manage a complex workload effectively.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with children, families and partner agencies to ensure that safeguarding concerns are identified and addressed appropriately, with the child's welfare and best interests at the centre of all decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage an allocated caseload of children and families with safeguarding needs.

  • Undertake high-quality assessments and develop effective plans to safeguard children.

  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and assess risk.

  • Work in partnership with children, parents, carers and other professionals.

  • Develop and maintain effective multi-agency relationships.

  • Ensure children’s voices, wishes and feelings remain central to all interventions.

  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with statutory and organisational requirements.

  • Attend relevant meetings, reviews and professional discussions.

  • Manage workload effectively and meet statutory timescales.

  • Promote positive outcomes and improved safety and wellbeing for children and families.

Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker
    with relevant professional experience.

  • Strong and demonstrable experience in
    children's safeguarding
    .

  • Experience managing complex safeguarding cases and caseloads.

  • Ability to work confidently and independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong assessment, communication, analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding procedures, legislation and best practice.

  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.

  • Enhanced DBS
    clearance or willingness to obtain one.

  • Must be able to work
    hybrid
    , with a minimum of3 days per week in the office
    .
