Support Worker; Mental Health

Permanent support worker post in Choice Support's established mental health team, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. The work centres on building daily living skills, from budgeting and cooking to tenancy upkeep, alongside medication support and group activities. The role is a 39-hour week on a zero-hours contract, with lone working in a small team and shorter shifts  skills, DBS checks and reference checks decide fit.

• Support adults to build daily living skills, such as managing finances and cooking
• Promote independence so people can gain the confidence to move on into the community
• Provide emotional support and help with appointments
• Give medication support
• Help people reach their goals and full potential
• Maintain tenancies, including budgeting, paying bills, home maintenance and correspondence
• Facilitate groups such as outings, cooking and gardening
• Support shared interests in art and music
• Do housework and paperwork

• IT skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to change
• Comfortable working alone in a small team

• DBS check
• Reference checks and review of work history
• Right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship, as no sponsorship is offered to new staff
